歴史とは何か、をテーマとする本は、「認識され、書かれた歴史」の話ばかりである。

しかし「書かれなかった歴史」に触れないのは、片手落ちである。

人間の、消そう、歪曲しよう、とする「作為」に触れないのは、片手落ちである。
「贋作・虚偽とは何か」、に触れないのは、戦争中の情報戦に対して、お手上げである。

物質世界の「時間と空間とエネルギー」は連続する。
そしてそれは絶対的なものである。

宇宙の歴史は非常に長い。しかし人類の歴史は、ごく最近の、極めて短い期間である。

宇宙から地球を眺めるとしよう。
そして、古代から現代へと、早回しで観察することを、想像してみよう。
あるいは逆に、現代から古代へと、時間を逆行させることを、想像してみよう。

その時、私たちは、感じるだろう。

世界は、人間の認識に関わりなく、「ものの存在の仕方それ自体」で存在する。
歴史学の目指す歴史は、「物質世界に起きたこと」が基本である。

消えた歴史、消された歴史、顧みられなかった歴史、認識されなかった歴史。
これらは、物質世界に存在したものであれば、歴史である。

また「贋作」に対しては「本物」、「虚偽」「錯誤」に対しては「真実」がある。
そして「本物や真実」とは、物質世界に根拠があるものである。

歴史の素材は、人が認識することに始まる、と言われている。
しかし歴史は、物質世界に根拠を持つ。
それは人間の認識に関係なく存在するものである。
